Good = they figured out what does and does not work and made improvements
Bad = same as above .... but if you bought a 2006 model, chances are we wil not be able to find a replacement part or heat exchanger! I have personally had to deal with this lately.
What MOST installers WILL NOT tell you when providing a "sales pitch" is that tankless water heaters NEED maintenance. Don't believe me ...... look at the fine print in the warranty information buried deep in each manufacturers website(s). Do you have a tankless heater now ..... call the Tech support line and ask for the warranty dept. The 1st thing they will ask is "When was the last time your unit was serviced?"
"Serviced?" you ask?????? That's right .... serviced
As much as I like the "tankless idea", the industry has a long way to go to be maintenance or problem free.
This is coming from a person that has a tankless heater! Although I REALLY like my Noritz Tankless Heater
I still have to maintain the unit.
Splash Plumbing is one of Orange Counties best plumbing companies and we install a lot of water heaters including tankless units. Despite this, we repair, replace (yes replace) and maintain more units than we install! Is this the best "sales pitch" ... no .. but I would rather be honest than have to explain myself 2 years later to a client that was not properly informed.
Don't get me wrong, tankless heaters ARE great! But .... if you are considering purchasing a unit, PLEASE contact us here at 1-877-HEY -SPLASH so that we can discuss your options.
Have a great day and I look forward to hearing from you all!
