POTATO FRY

POTATO FRY


This is the only dish which is being liked by small kids as well as grown ups also! There are so many variations in preparing potato fry. This one is very simple to cook. At the same time, with all the ingredients and spices, the outcome will be very delicious!


உருளைக்கிழங்கு வறுவல்

Ingredients:

Coarsely ground Fennel seeds- 1 tsp
Medium sized potatoes-4
Thinly sliced onion-1 cup
Crushed tomato-half cup
Chilli powder- 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder- half tsp
Mint leaves [chopped]-2 tbsp
Coriander leaves- 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
Oil- 2 tbsp

Procedure:

Heat a non-stick pan and pour the oil.
Add the onion with the fennel powder and the ginger garlic paste.
Fry well.
Add the tomatoes with the greens.
Cook them until the tomatoes are mashed and the oil floats on top.
Add the potato pieces with the powders and salt and mix well.
Cook the potatoes on slow fire with the lid closed.
Mix well in intervals.
Cook until the potatoes are softened and slightly crisp.
The delicious potato fry is ready to be served now !!

Mango Banana Chocolate MilkShake


I never used to like milkshakes when I was a child, because of it's thickness, but I liked to drink milk a little bit warm. So never liked the cold ones a lot.


Anush is also like me, so it is kinda hard for me to make him like anything. But now a days he is ready to kinda try new things. So I am also as excited as he is. So try to put his favorite ingredient as the main one, so that he does not loose interest. In this recipe chocolate is the main ingredient. :)

GOING BANANAS - Banana Nut Chocolate

GOING BANANAS !

BANANA NUT CHOCOLATE

 Banana halwa, banana paayasam and panchaamrutam are some of the banana sweets which we usually prepare at home. This time I wanted to make a 'cut and dry' sweet using ripe banana. 
 Irrespective of age, every one in our family is a chocoholic! Hence I decided to make  banana chocolate, of course with a nutty sprinkle. 


INGREDIENTS 


Mashed ripe banana - 1/2 cup 
Coarsely powdered mixed nuts - 1/2 cup 
Sugar - 1 1/2 cups 
Cocoa powder - 2 tbsps 
Ghee - 2 tbsps 

METHOD 

1. Peel, dice and roughly mash bananas using the back of a ladle. 
2. Grind the nuts ( I have used almonds and walnuts ) into a coarse powder. 
3. Heat one tablespoon of ghee in a kadai and add the mashed bananas. 
4. Stir and cook till the banana pulp becomes dry and remove it on to a plate. 
5. Mix sugar with one cup of water and boil it in the same kadai
6. When the syrup reaches one string consistency add the banana pulp, coarsely powdered nuts and the cocoa powder.

 
7. Stir all the ingredients together and cook on medium flame. 


8. Keep stirring till it becomes thick. The cooking chocolate should immediately harden when a drop comes in contact with cold water.  
9. At this stage stir in the remaining one tablespoon of ghee, and immediately pour the molten chocolate on to a greased plate. 


10. Mark into bars or squares using a sharp knife before it sets.


Cut out the 'cut and dry' Banana Nut Chocolate when it becomes hard and experience bliss as it melts in your mouth.
