Plain Butter Paratha

I love North Indian food very much, especially parathas and paneer combination. In punjabi food they use lot of butter in making parathas and in curries which makes it rich in taste fills your stomach even if you eat one of the stuffed parathas. This time instead of making stuffed paratha, I wanted to make plain paratha with butter on top and combine it with Paneer Butter Masala (this time I didn't add peas), because I was planning to make this for dinner and didn't want to make it for heavy. :-)

Ingredients:
------------------
2 cups Atta / Chapati Flour (I prefer whole wheat)
Salt (optional - I usually don't use salt)
1 1/4  cups of Water pr as needed to make a soft dough
1/2 tsp Oil
1 tbsp Butter

Method:
----------
1. In a large mixing bowl add the flour and add most of the water and make the dough, add water if necessary little by little. Make sure you make soft dough which comes together easily but should not be sticky. If you do this way you will get a soft dough. Knead the dough for about 5 mins.
2. Apply oil, cover and let it rest for about 30 mins.
3. Roll out lemon size balls out of the kneaded dough.
4. Sprinkle out some flour on the rolling surface and coat the dough with some more flour and gently roll out to a small circle apply some oil and sprinkle some flour on top of it.
5. Fold it to a quarter, first half one fold and then again fold it to a quarter. Now sprinkle more flour on top and again roll to a triangle or circle shaped paratha.
6. Meanwhile heat a non stick pan. When it's hot place the rolled paratha, and wait until you see little bubbles on top, flip to the other side and press a bit on the sides and flip again so that you can see slight brown bubbles.

7. Remove it to a serving plate and spread some butter on both sides and serve it hot with your choice of curry, savory/sweet yogurt and pickle.
